The Multigenerational Workplace: Challenging By DesignFriday, September 26th | 12:45 - 2:15 pm
Are you conservative and respectful of authority? Idealistic and prone to workaholism? Self-sufficient and entrepreneurial? Confident and constantly plugged-in? What shaped you? The Great Depression and World War II? Woodstock and Vietnam? AIDS and Computers? Terrorism and Environmentalism?
For the first time, we have four different generations working side-by-side in the workplace: Traditionalists (born prior to 1946), Boomers (born 1946 to 1964), Gen Xers (born 1965 to 1981) and Millennials (born 1982 to 2000).
We know we’re different (Oh, do we know it!), but must the generation gap create so much conflict? Is one workplace large enough for four different sets of values and expectations? As Gen Xers continue to move into leadership roles with older Millennials following quickly, will the workplace structures and cultures built by Traditionalists and Boomers embrace the future?
Join us to learn about, laugh about and leave valuing our multigenerational culture at work. It may be challenging by design, but it’s worth it!
